Gloriagate Scandal

I just noticed that the controversy on the supposedly wiretapped conversations between President Arroyo and Comelec Commissioner Garcillano is now called Gloriagate scandal. I have yet to find out who coined the term; most probably those from the pro-Erap media.

Even Michelle Malkin used the term in her blog. (Malkin is a conservative columnist who declared she was “deeply, mortifyingly ashamed of her parent’s native land” when our government pulled out its troops in Iraq to save Angelo de la Cruz).

A new site that hosts zipped audio file of the wiretapped conversation is also called Gloriagate.

Meanwhille, a TV report showed that netizens aren’t afraid to download and distribute the audio files on the Internet Meanwhile, members of Anakbayan, a militant youth group, was shown on TV selling CDs of what they dubbed as “The Malacanang Scandal” for five pesos each to students in Manila.

Despite the President’s deafening silence on the issue, the Gloriagate controversy refuses to die.

By the way, Rep. Mikey Arroyo is on leave. Rep. Teddy Casiño says Mikey’s mother should follow.

gloriagate as in watergate scandal. synonymous to saying it can/will bring down the president. the similarities are uncanny. a former nbi deputy director lead the expose vs. pgma and it was just revealed recently who deep throat was, who happens to be a former fbi director. amazing.

What we need now are not reliable witnesses regarding this scandal but reliable investigating body and justice system. Wycoco and Gonzales should stop speaking on behalf of the president. They are there for the people and not for the president alone. If they are going to charge anybody for harboring Ong (an alleged criminal), they too must be charged for protecting an even bigger alleged criminal (an election cheat).

The emergence of one T/Sgt.Doble doing another Udong Mahusay retraction only demonstrate we are not only a nation of thieves and cheats, we also have men and women who have yet to know the meaning of integrity. In the end, when all are asleep on the wheel, GMA and her phalanx of goons and weedsters will come up with another startling revelation and that is; the voice in the tape is not those of Gloria and Garcilliano. Fact is, it was Marilyn Monroe talking to Elvis Presley. Where do we go from here? I doubt we will be going anywhere so long as we have crooks at the helm of government affairs. How sad.

But for me the government of Pres. Arroyo is the genuine and remarkable among the regime of the past president in our country. I really sallute her with her good and organized policy in her country. The President’s admission of the fact that indeed she talk to many including to an unmentioned COMELEC chair in her statement that included her apology does not exculpate her from the continuing efforts of the Filipinos to seek justice. Let Justice be served. I mean the “real essence” of justice if there really is in the Philippines.

I am an ofw working in hongkong even we are not in the country we ofws are very much aware of what’ s happenning in our beloved phils. Hindi nakatuwa ang mga nangyayri sa ating bansa. Lalot kaming mga nasa ibang bansa hindi po kami nagtratrabaho dito para lang sa aming mga naiwang pamilya dyan kundi sino ang higit na nakikinabang kundi yong mga nakaupo dyan sa pwesto.
