The problem with us filipinos is we are not assertive enough, it’s either we shut up or we scream. We take criticism badly, so we try not to criticize at all, hanggang mapuno na tayo tapos peoples power na naman.
The government is just part of the problem as well as the people. I hope we realize that we have a problem and each of us is part of the solution.
We are a very inefficient country, example, when i was in the Philippines, i bought a rice cooker, someone asisted me in looking for the one i like, then i paid at the cashier, then the cashiers assistant double checked the receipt, then i gave the receipt to someone to claim the item, then he checked if its working, then upon exiting the store, someone checked again if i have the receipt. Ano to? enrollment???? Only one person is needed to do this job!!
The government needs to be streamlined, the more people you have, the more disorganized things will be. And of course, more graft and corruption. Do we actually need so many town mayors? Why not merge the small towns. And we do not need barangay captains, please. I hope that the Philippines will move into a parliamentary government as it works based on my experience (United Kingdom)
Secondly, I push for a complete disconnection of the church and state, especially the RC Church. The church is part of the problem, the longer the government is associated with the Christian Churches, there will nevr be lasting peace in Mindanao. And please lang, gumamit naman kayo ng condom OK, and dami dami na natin, hind lang yung kakainin ng bata ang obligasyon ng magulang, you need to send them to school, send them to hospital if they are sick, you need to spend time with your kids and take them on trips, and it cost not just money.
Lastly, I hope we stop our prejudice against each other. Baboy, Pangit, Bakla, Bisaya, Jologs, Tingting, Tanda, Negro, Pandak……………we’ve heard all of these. STOP the prejudice against dialects, religions, sexual preference, and age discrimination. Let us learn more from each other, if we do not respect our countrymen, the world will think we are a dysfunctional nation.
That’s just my point of course.
