Hey will you please shut up….. mind ur own business. its not ryt that you put all the blame to Kris Aquino, samantalang di lang naman siya ang nag-iisang conjuangco or even cory as far as i know matagal na ipinaubaya ni cory ang hacienda dun sa mga kapatid nya.. she didn’t recieved any single centavos from there……

and who is this pretentious overseas filipino worker named francis something? he sounds like the typical balkbayan who reeks of philistine triumphalism. He is overly narcissisitic and could not see beyond his so-called achievements. Francis, You are shamelessly illiterate, and i don’t mean fucntional literacy (you seem to have spent so much time writing in English though your style is far from literary), i mean you are ignorant of the structural dimension of human experience. you like to talk about big words like, such is the pinoy, the good life, democracy and stuff. but it seems that you haven’t really read properly. and people like you who have no benefit of sociological insight and social inviestigation whatwsoever would always reserve the right to freedom of expression. yeah, right! sure, you are free to express your stupid thoughts but that also entails betraying your stupidity and illiteracy. I wonder what kind of books you read.let me see, uhmm..coehlo? the purpose driven life? or some such low-life inspirational trash?

i may not be so into activism but given my profession which i shall not disclose, and which has given me the opportunity to study social movements in different societies and how globalization (which the activists rightly calls imperialist) impact on these social movements, i dare say that people like francis should keep his uninformed ideas to himself. and you know what francis, i have proven once again, and through you that arrogance is a function of ignorance. now this francis probably thinks i’m no exception, i’m sounding so arrogant too. well, i have the credentials to be and most of the vile in my comment comes from passion and anger towards people like you-you know what francis, a lot of people think like you do. and it’s the reason why this country is all messed-up.

Jhules dear, you do not know anything about hacienda luisita. before i even tell you to shut up, i advise you to read something about the history of the farmworkers’ struggle at the hacienda. Why would anyone believe Cory when she says that she has got nothing to do with the haciena? This is the same woman who years ago promised that if she were elected president, her first priority would be to implement land reform. What happened? Do you even know, Jhules? I bet you don’t since predictably you’d say, “ano naman pakealam ko dun?” Yeah, people like you are so predictable. And why would anybody believe Kris when she says that she has got nothing to do with the hacienda? I mean, c’mmon what kind of moron would believe in anything Kris Aquino says?

Anyway, I just hate to read comments that are so uninformed, when there are, in fact, available materials in the net that may be read and weighed!

You know what’s funny about Jhule’s comment is that he sounds like a paid hack by the aquinos. I bet he isn’t. That’s what makes him pathetic…a mouthpeice of the elite who doesn’t get anything in return. (the farmers in the hacienda are paid 9.50, but that is not to trivialize their dire condition it’s just to irritate and agitate Jhules hehe ). jhules, don’t you think you deserve some remuneration, i mean , you even go as far as telling people to shut up, wow, you must be something!…a squirrel may be? i mean, the brain of a squirrel, kidding.

lesson number 1.
people who can muster a critique of others’ ideas are not necessesarily lacking in/of social life. for how can anybody in this social world be without a social life?

lesson number 2.
you better think twice about those “bitching cliches.” some of them don’t work to score against your target. rather, they just make you sound stupid.

lesson number 3.
that thing about “so-called intelligence” is curious. was there any mention of such intelligence in my post? by the way, you may only use “so-called”to refer to an idea popularly held. (you were probabaly impressed but since you are far from approximating my quality of mind, (and that deep inside you know) you are just half-green in envy.

oh, and what makes you think i’m a girl? hahaha! you don’t have to consider thinking about that. you know what maita, something tells me you are jhules, or that ofw whose name i can not recall anymore, or that other girl who advises people to just work hard and mind their own bussiness. But then again, you might just be another one who belong to that lamentable cohort. my satisfaction lays in my suspicion that it matters to you that i think you are stupid. and you could neither confirm nor deny that since in the last instance, the self is the arbiter of suspicion. and that’s lesson number 4 for you.

lesson number 5.
in the final analysis, you just don’t agree with my ideas. but what is funny is you did not even bother to engage them. instead you indulge yourself in this rather unimaginative character sketch. do you read short stories or novels? you should if you are into that character sketching stuff because as your description stands, you are way below average.

well, just a quick reply to your character sketch: No, i don’t stay the whole day in front of my pc. i do a lot of other stuff. maybe it’s my talent to focus on whatever it is that i’m doing at the moment that makes people think that all i ever do is to work on the matter at hand. and wrting the way i do does not even eat a quarter of my breaktime. i think you have to consider the possibilty that some people can, indeed, write and think fast.

lesson number 5.
and another tip, if you haven’t done any study on stereotypes or have not even read what a stereotype is, then you better give up on using character sketches as your strategy for bitching. you see, i’m saying all these things not to put you down, i want to keep my opponents alive (in a debate, that is-your literal imagination might take that statement the wrong way) because they (my opponents) make me stronger. so if you could only improve on your writing and thinking skills then i would love to engage you! thougt bubble: how long will that improvement take you though? hahaha!

lesson number 6.
and your guess about my non-cyber self is quite bold-not so much for its content but it’s the very idea of surmising how a cyber image might be in real life. You see, people in cyberspace may opt to assume an altogether different personality, cyberculture is actually one effective way of constructing identities other than your non-cyber identity. so why make a one-to-one correspondence between my ideas and my real life lifestyle? oh, i might know the answer to that question! let me see, because your simple-minded? or a simpleton perhaps? hihi, bleed for me.

lesson number 7.
in the final analysis, maita, what is at stake in this tread is the struggle- in the realm of ideas-of that ‘event’ called hacienda luisita. and just to bring this discussion back into its proper and rightful purpose, may i just reiterate and reaffirm the following slogans:

jinky is yet another stupid irritant. But she is definitely more stupid than jinky. In fairness, jinky bothers to argue. This jinky is braindead. C’mmon man, not all crticism is a product of envy. And besides, why would you advise anybody who musters a critique of the social system to just work hard so that they can afford the luxuries you assume they want to have but can’t? You listen to me, and try hard to understand:

Those who are up against the system of exploitation and oppression are beyond what this system could offer. Did you ever consider that there are people who, for ethical and moral reasons would refuse to sell-out to this system? That means they are beyond the fantasy of making themselves rich because that would just reproduce the system which they are up against? Do you dig that?

and you have the cheek to tell them to just work (”magrabaho na lang kayo”)? What do you do? Are you a call center agent? Or some mediocre student from some school?

You see people, this cyber thing has made so many people think that they are free to express themselves, and that this freedom is absolute. These people should realize that some ideas fundtion to support the dominant system of oppression and exploition, precisely the system that kills farmers, workers and activists. The system that keeps millions of youth out of school is the same system that leaves millions of children around the world malnourished, hungry and unsheltered. That is why I say that nobody should get away with ideas that supprot this criminal system! Criminal ideas like Genely’s and Francis’ must be pinned down and critiqued! And if you don’t agree with me you are wrong. Ha.

this thread is really interesting i’v learned so much about hacienda luisita and the possible ways by which people talk about the issue. Kaya lang si maia, and this is just an observation, no offense meant, turns this thread into her own issue. parang it is suddenly about her. i think maraming mahalagang points na na-raise si jinky. pero si maia pinepersonal at ginagawan pa niya ng post si jinky na siya ang guamwa confusing tuloy. sana sa susunod kung may galit kayo sa iba, paki e-mail niyo na lang kasi napaka vulgar. I know all of you just aired what you feel. We should not be unfair to others, accusing someone without knowing all of the credible information is very unfair. How are we to judge that quick because the news said this is what is happening. Who are we to judge these people when we do not know how the situation happened. How sure are you that the higher management or the owners know what is really happening in their farm. Airing what you have seen on TV is ok but don’t push too hard. I suggest you make your investigation and do what is necessary to make you all feel alright.

Kris Aquino has nothing to do with what is happening at hacienda luisita!She is earning her own living and she does not depend on the money of the hacienda luisita. She is one of the top tax payers of the gountry because of her hardwork.I don’t think she deserve this!

it was an eye opener for me what i had read here, 9.50 a day. kung ang ibang tao ay hindi naniniwala, imulat ninyo ang mga ninyo. sa paglalakbay ko sa cordillera, marami akong nakausap na mga magsasaka na nakamkam ng mga marcos ang lupa nila.
